The Candidate Without a Prayer

April 3, 5:00 p.m. - The University of Virginia Law School Chapter of the American Constitution Society hosts Herb Silverman, president of the Secular Coalition for America. Silverman will relate his long, challenging, and occasionally humorous battle against South Carolina's religious test for public office, culminating in 1998 with a unanimous state Supreme Court decision in his favor.

The event will be held in Caplin Pavilion (below), the Law School's premier speaker facility. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres, wine, soda and water will be served.

Following the event, we'll enjoy dinner with Herb Silverman and his partner, Sharon Fratepietro, at a Charlottesville restaurant. Please contact Mary Ellen Sikes by noon on Monday, March 31 if you wish to join us. Dinner location, cost, etc. will be e-mailed to you once we have a count of attendees. Please be willing to make a firm commitment if you sign up for dinner -- we'll need an exact head count to reserve our table.
